Rearview Mirror Left the Chat…

This morning kicked off with an unexpected surprise. As I got into my car, I noticed my rearview mirror casually hanging out on my center console. Turns out, the adhesive decided it had enough and gave way. Because I obviously don’t need my rearview mirror. Driving to work was weird; I had to use my side mirrors to see who was behind me. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that (how do truck drivers do it?)

Now, I’m left with two options: tackle the fix myself with a DIY kit or take it to the professionals at a glass shop. A DIY kit is generally cheaper than paying for professional services. I believe the kit is around 10 bucks which is not bad at all. Plus, you can get it done as soon as you buy the kit. No waiting for appointments. There’s also something gratifying about fixing things with your own hands. However, it’s essential to follow the instructions well, otherwise you can mess things up.

However, taking your car to a professional glass shop might be more appealing. You just drop off your car and let the experts handle it. I mean, they have the expertise, experience and materials to ensure a long-lasting fix. Plus, you won’t have to worry about whether you did it right. The downside? It could be pricier and might require scheduling an appointment, which means you might have to wait a bit longer.

Honestly, I’ll most likely go the route of going to a shop. Quick, easy, and (hopefully) cheap. I mean it’s not like I’m getting my entire windshield replaced, right?

Edit: That’s what I did! Shoutout to the folks at Crystal Glass who got the job done in less than 30 minutes. Now my mirror is all back up!
