Brain: 0, Stomach: 1

Ever have those moments where your brain says one thing, but your stomach says another? So there I was at the store, all set to buy some hair product, and then I came across a bag of Goldfish crackers on sale. My brain was telling me, “You don’t need any snacks,” but my stomach was begging me to get them. I mean. for $2.49? It was a steal. Of course, I caved and brought the bag home.

Not surprisingly, I finished it in one sitting which was a total accident. Some snacks are “empty calories” in which they are so light but calorie dense that you don’t really feel full, even after eating your daily caloric intake with one single bag of chips. That satisfying crunch quickly turned into major regret. Now, I’m waking up feeling like a bloated goldfish myself. Sometimes it’s better to listen to your brain than your stomach… or face the consequences. Lesson learned. If there’s anything I know for sure, it’s that sales and impulse bins near the cash register are VERY tempting.
