Male faces murder charge after death on Yellow Quill First Nation

A man faces a charge of second-degree murder in a woman’s death over the weekend.

R-C-M-P say they responded late Sunday afternoon to a report of an injured person at a residence on Yellow Quill First Nation.

They found a 24-year-old woman who was later declared dead by E-M-S, and she has been identified as Terrance Tony-Kishayinew.

26-year-old Cole Smokeyday from the community was arrested at the scene in relation to her death, and police say he is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court this morning, facing three charges including Second Degree murder.

Police allege he also assaulted a second adult, who did not report injuries to police.
