Melville Millionaires snap three game slide with shutout win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves

MILLIONAIRES 5, ICE WOLVES 0

Loic Morin made 32 saves, earning his first SJHL shutout and spearheading the Melville Millionaires to a commanding 5-0 triumph over the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Saturday.

Jadon Iyogun shone bright with two goals, while SJHL scoring leader Caden Drury added a goal and an assist, boosting his impressive tally to 19 points in just seven games.

Leo Jewitt and Ryan Roethke also found the back of the net, helping the Moneymen snap their three-game winless streak and raise their record to 6-2-1.

Don’t miss the Millionaires’ next showdown on Friday night in Yorkton, as they gear up for the season’s first Highway 10 battle against the Terriers at the Westland Insurance Arena.

TERRIERS 4, RED WINGS 6

The Yorkton Terriers’ record dropped to 6-2 on the season after a 6-4 road loss to the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place.

 The line of Jaxson Ruthven (3G, 2A), Ethan Dekay (3G), and Jerome Mahara (5A) combined for 13 points as the Red Wings captured their fourth straight win.

 Dustin Renas, Bryce Dahl, Keenan Ingram, and Tyler Palin replied for the Terriers, who got 24 stops from goaltender Ethan Farrow in the loss.

Weyburn goalie Angelo Zol made 45 saves on 49 shots to earn the victory.

 The Terriers’ next game is on Wednesday night, visiting the Estevan Bruins.
