Terriers’ earn big road win on Wednesday over division rival Bruins

The Yorkton Terriers put an end to their 8 game slide on Wednesday night with a 5-2 road win over the Estevan Bruins.

Anthony Domina got the Terriers’ on the board just 36 seconds into the 1st period as he deflected home his 8th of the season to make it 1-0.

The Bruins responded a short time later and it would be a familiar face as former Terrier Cade Kennedy got the home-side even as he tapped home his first as a Bruin & 7th of the season to make it 1-1.

Terriers though regained their lead just over four minutes later as Dalton Mayes’ long pass found a sprinting Dylan Ruptash & he went forehand-backhand five-hole on Cam Hrdlicka to give his team a 2-1 lead after 1 period.

In the 2nd period the two exchanged goals off the sticks of Tyson Perkins (YKT) & a PP goal from Ilia Chmelevski to put Yorkton up by 1 through 40 minutes.

After a back & forth start to the final frame, the Terriers got the much needed insurance they needed as with 3:11, Domina added his 2nd of the night before Cooper Algajer finished it off with an empty-netter just over a minute later to wrap up the win.

Terriers’ G Ethan Farrow made 29 saves on 31 shots to improve his record to 5-5-0 on the season while Cam Hrdlicka made 36 stops in the loss.

Yorkton will go for back to back wins on Saturday as they wrap up their pre-Christmas break visiting another division rival in the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place.
