Three Millionaires named as nominees for 2023/24 SJHL Yearly Awards


The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced their nominees for their 2023/24 league awards, and three members of the Melville Millionaires were nominated.

Forward Luc Bydal (pictured above right) was named as a nominee for SJHL Rookie of the Year while fellow forward Jadon Iyogun (pictured above left) is up for league’s Most Sportsmanlike Player.

Bydal, a product of Grand Forks, North Dakota is currently 2nd in league Rookie scoring right with 19 goals, 21 assists for 40 points in 46 games & will go up against Travis Bryson (Humdolt) & Carson Olsen (Battlefords) for the award. 

Iyogun has a team-high 20 goals along with 17 assists for 37 points in 40 games while also accumulating just 8 minutes in penalties.

Finally, Millionaires Head Coach & GM Doug Johnson has been nominated as SJHL Coach of the Year. 

The Millionaires’ at the moment have a 13 win and 21 point over one season ago, and Johnson has helped the Moneymen clinched their first playoff spot in over a half-dozen years.

Kindersley’s Clayton Jardine and Flin Flon’s Mike Reagan are also nominated for the award.
